Senior Horse Trials Report- Swalcliffe in Oxfordshire, 3rd – 5th August

New member Sally Plummer Jones was thrown in at the deep end when we asked her to ride in the 100+ Team qualifiers at the end of June. She only went and qualified for the national finals and she tells her story of the championships below …. After qualifying for the BRC champs at poplar park in the 100+ the task began to get my chunky Irish sport horse fit enough for roads and tracks steeplechase and xc. After many hacking hours up hills and galloping stubble fields we arrived at the champs fighting fit! I was pleasantly surprised at how amazingly well run and organised it all was and both horse and rider well catered for . The trot up was a lovely first experience for me . The dressage was quiet and away from the chaos of the show. And WOW the setting of the show is in the most beautiful rolling countryside . The course walk with Lucinda Green was amazing giving us loads of gems of information, all in all what a great experience and really hope to qualify again next year and to be part of a senior team !
